Ygnacio Center

The design and development of Ygnacio Center is the largest mixed use project in Walnut Creek in over 15 years. A direct response to emerging Smart Growth and Transit Oriented Development principles, the redevelopment of a city block directly adjacent to the Walnut Creek BART transit station stands at an important crossroad for passengers entering the downtown. The master plan employs a combination of strategically located open space as well as a dynamic mix of active street edge uses including restaurant and retail to engage the surrounding context while at the same time inviting pedestrians into and through the site. The creation of a phase one contemporary Class A office building creates a new center of gravity for the site, acts as a gateway to the city, and affords stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Additional phases of development will continue to mix open space and other strategic uses to densify and enrich the site at this important transit center.
